1 Peter 2:13-17

"Church and State" - 1 Peter 2:13-17

I warned you that things are about to get real, and this passage will not disappoint. To say that 1 Peter 2:13-17 is a challenging passage would the understatement of the century.

How do we take the spiritual realities that Peter has been teaching and live them out in real time? How do holy people look? What does it mean for us to be a "holy nation" and a "special people"?

Peter is going to address four specific applications of Christian life in relationship to real world experience. How do we handle relationship to governmental authority, workplace authority, marriage, and church?

Now, we will look at our relationship to human government. This should be a piece of cake because governments always do the right thing and look our for the people they govern, right? Ok, maybe not.

I hope we come away understanding what Peter is saying, and what Peter is not saying. These words have challenged the church for 200 centuries, and they will challenge you too! Read ahead, think it through, pray, and then...
