"Re-Imagining Marriage, pt 2" - 1 Peter 3:7
In this message, men [husbands] are on the hot seat as we "re-imagine" marriage as God has designed it to be. Rather than letting world or family culture tell us what the roles of men and women are and how marriage works, we are going straight to the source - the Creator Himself!
The statements Peter makes to the first century church were as countercultural then as they are now! I can only speak for myself, but I can tell you that culture did me no favors in understanding how to treat women.
With one verse, 1 Peter 3:7, Peter presents a powerful, world-culture changing approach to women.
If obeyed, it gives husbands a model that would be unique in the ancient world and even today would change statistics on domestic violence.
If ignored, it stands to threaten a man's own vital connection to God through prayer!
Really??
What does God want husbands to know? How is prayer life affected by marriage life? We are guaranteed to make the most of the one verse for husbands, and I think you will want to....
