1 Peter 3:13-17
"Are You Ready?" - 1 Peter 3:13-17
By the time you need it, it's too late. Need what? Too late for what? That can apply to lots of things. If you are in the middle of baking something only to see that the recipe calls for eggs, and you realize you are all out -- it's too late! You have to abandon ship and have cereal, or make the trip to Food Lion and get them. Right?
The time to prepare for retirement is before you retire! The time to prepare for the hurricane is before the hurricane. And so on....
In a world where Christians are living life for the living God, Peter anticipates that questions will come. Yes, we can share our faith without words, just by our actions and responses. But sometimes verbalizing our hope is needed. Are you ready? Could you do it?
The time to think about why you believe what you believe is before someone asks!
This passage in 1 Peter is the one that gives rise to the realm of theology we call "Christian Apologetics". If you have ever been intimidated by questions about Noah's Ark, Joshua's long day, or the proof of the resurrection, then Sunday's sermon is a must?
Do I really need to be able to "defend" Christianity? What if I don't have all the answers? Well then.....
......Come and See!
