"Knowing God's Will" - 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8

Have you ever stressed over, worried about, or experienced confusion regarding God's will for you? If you have, then join the club. Often, people want specific direction about a decision or choice. What does God want me to do? In many cases there is no specific direction in the Bible, and sometimes your "heart" can be confusing or even divided. Do I take that job? Move to that city? Marry that person? Spend that money? Tough and important decisions.

But, the good news is that the things God really wants us to know, He tells us clearly! And as Mark Twain said, "It's not the things in the Bible I don't understand that trouble me. It's the things I do understand!"

Paul relates God's will clearly to the young Thessalonian believers -- their sanctification! What does that mean? In what areas of my life? Spoiler alert for parents -- Paul is addressing a cultural issue with this church. The issue is human sexuality and purity. I will do my best to keep our discussion "family friendly", but God wants to help us develop a philosophy of our bodies! Isn't that where a lot of the turmoil exists today? Who has the right to tell me what I should and should not do with my body?
