"You Can Be Sure!" - 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

So, how do you feel about the future? Right now there seems to be a tremendous amount of uncertainty about the future. What will happen with food, gas, inflation, and wages? What will the ramifications be of overturning Roe v. Wade? What is the long term situation with Covid? The news is full of speculation about the future, and much of it is grim.

With so much being uncertain, it is helpful to know there are things we can be certain about in the midst of uncertainty. It was Benjamin Franklin who famously said, "...in this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes." Well, Ben, you missed something. There is one more thing that is certain, and that is the coming of the Day of the Lord!

"But Pastor, isn't there a lot of uncertainty about that??" There are some things that scholars and theologians wrestle over and disagree on, but......there are some things we can absolutely be sure of and without any doubt whatsoever! These are the things we will discuss together tomorrow!

What does the future hold? What is the Day of the Lord? What can I know for sure? You know the routine......
