Colossians 1:15-20

As with so much of the truth about Jesus, it was recorded for the early church in order to combat the spread of erroneous thoughts and philosophies about Him! What we will read about Jesus in Colossians 1 was given to them to combat the intellectual and philosophical teachings they were being subject to! Colossians 1:15-20 is a loaded with deep understanding about who Jesus really is!

What is the real relationship between the Father and Son? Is the Father the judgmental angry God of the OT and Jesus the kind and gentle God of the NT? Maybe Jesus is just a good teacher like Ghandi or a prophet like Muhammad?

If those questions are not enough, we can discuss why we even exist! Why did God create in the first place? What is the relationship between Jesus and the church? Why is Jesus so important in the scheme of cosmic history and the story of mankind?

These are the big issues that lie beneath the smaller issues of our everyday lives. We tend to think narrowly and focus on the problem at hand while ignoring the bigger picture. Tomorrow will be a "BIG PICTURE" day. If you don't get these things right about Jesus, then nothing else in life will line up as it should, and you will be vulnerable to being misled.

If you want to avoid being spiritually scammed, you have to know who Jesus is!"
