Colossians 1:9-14

Do you have a hard time asking for help? Do you feel like you should be able to handle things on your own?

As Paul is trying to keep the people of Colossae from being spiritually scammed, he tells them that he never hits the "pause button" regarding his prayer for them! They are doing good, but Paul know that is NOT the time to relax, it's the time to pray. Danger is lurking and convincing lies about God are seeping in.

Do you know there are things in your life that only God can do? Once you get over the hurdle of pride, and are willing to say you need help, then the next hurdle is asking the right person. There are things in life that we need help with. We just don't have the strength and no person can give us theirs. Sure, they can support and encourage, but they can't give us their strength. There is no way around it, you are going to have to ask God! No one else can do what you need done.

What do the Colossians need to keep from being scammed? What Paul can't do for them he knows God can do for them. Paul heaps truth upon truth in his prayer for them. I am excited to talk through this passage with all of you and see what Paul asks for God to do in their lives.

It is a packed passage, so I am praying God will help me talk it through with clarity and ease. Sharpen your pencils and get a good night's sleep. There is just too much to begin addressing it all in the teaser. But we can be certain of this.....the better we know God and what brings Him pleasure, the less vulnerable we will be to spiritual scams!

May God help us to live in all of the truth of who He is and what He does. The truth is freeing! But don't take my word for it.....
