Colossians 4:2-9
"Learning to Walk, Learning to Talk"
We have two more sermons in Colossians to finish the letter, and tomorrow we will look at vv 2-9. It's been a few weeks, so let me remind you that the last time we were in Colossians we discussed family relationships and how they were meant to work. When people put off the old identity and put on the new, life changes and relationships change.
When babies are born, they know how to cry and not much more. Over the course of the first year they will learn to walk, and by the second year they are learning to talk. Being "born again" follows the same pattern. If you are going to get rid of old behaviors you need new skills to replace them! You have to learn to walk as a child of God and learn to talk as a child of God.
As Paul wraps up his correspondence with the Colossians, he helps them learn to walk and talk in very practical ways. Whether you have been walking with God for many years or you are still new at this, there will be something for you!
