"Looking Forward" - 2 Peter 3:14-18 - 01/04/2026
We bring in the New Year by saying goodbye to 2 Peter! We will use the topics of the last section of the last chapter of 2 Peter to be the first thing we discuss in 2026. You won't be disappointed.
As always, God has given us perfect subject material for the first sermon of the new year. What are you looking forward to? Do you spend more time looking back or looking ahead? What do you think Peter was looking forward to as he neared his "departure" in the first century AD?
As the second coming if Jesus continues to shape the context of our discussion, we will also have the opportunity to discuss a little Roman mythology. Yup.
Why do grooms carry their brides over the threshold? Why is the first month called January? What does this have to do with looking forward? And, what do you think people are looking forward to, if anything at all?
All this and more as we start the new year. To fight that inertia and get things going on the "right foot", you need to...
...VIEW AND SEE!
