2 Peter 3:10-13
"What's New?" - 2 Peter 3:10-13
As we get ready to cross over into the new year, we will spend our last Sunday of 2025 with Peter in 2 Peter 3. Not only will we take one more step toward finishing our this book, but we will also have ample material for pondering what is "to come" in the future.
In Christianity, the study of things to come is called "eschatology". More literally, it is a study of "last things" -- the end of this age, judgement, the second coming of Jesus, and a new......??
What's new? Maybe nothing more than the calendar date right now. But to people that would say there will never be anything new, Peter disagrees. To those who question the delay of Jesus' return, and even doubt if He is ever coming back, Peter says with certainty, "the Day of the Lord will come".
With that, Peter sees some things that will be destroyed to make room for what will be......new?! What's new? Oh, just ....everything! Or at least it will be. When???? That's the question!
Yes, all of that comes with a pretty good opportunity for a great new years' resolution. If what Peter is saying is true, then how are we supposed to respond???? You should.....
.......VIEW AND SEE!
