2 Peter 1:1-11

"These Things" - 2 Peter 1:1-11

The second letter from Peter to the churches is a bit shorter than the first. Peter knows he has little time left, and he knows the truth of the Gospel of Jesus is already under attack. What will happen when he is killed? Will the believers be deceived? Or will they hold tight?

Peter, of course, is hopeful that the believers will take hold of what they have been given, and that the promises and truths would shape their lives to greater and greater degrees!

If there is one thing that is hard to swallow, it is people with natural talent that waste it. Being a "Joe Average" myself, I have had to work hard to make progress in so many areas of life. And then there are "those people" for whom certain things just come so easily that they take for granted the gift they have been given!

Well, Peter knows we have all been given a load of potential, and "these things" are essential. Having them makes all the difference in our lives.
