Psalms 136-138, 140-141
"Grief and Gratitude" - Psalms 136-141
We are in the "home stretch" of our study in the Psalms! I will begin with a follow up from some comments I made last time regarding Islam and their claim on the Temple Mount.
And then we will work our way through Psalms 136-141, with the exception of Psalm 139, which we did on a Sunday back in January for "Sanctity of Life" Sunday.
David's name begins to reappear as we read these Psalms which deal with a variety of topics and a variety of emotions -- from gratitude to grief. We are complex emotional beings and we live complex situational lives. Maturity demands that we find a healthy way to think and pray about all that life -- and God -- brings our way.
We start the night with Psalm 136 -- a responsive Psalm of gratitude. When is the last time you made a list of things you were grateful for? What was on the list? Was it easy to do or did you find it difficult? What is the Psalmist grateful for in Psalm 136? Maybe some things you never thought to give thanks for??
I am sure that you are committed to finishing strong! So...
...VIEW AND SEE!
