"Our Father..." - 1 John 5:1-5

It's Father's Day and like the other holidays we celebrate, there are mixed experiences on the human level. Some are triumphant and some are tragic.

But John has been speaking to us about being "born of God". In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul says that God is the "Father of all fatherhood"! Jesus tells Nicodemus that he must be born from above...born again!

This whole idea of being born again can seem a bit confusing or elusive. Is it a warm fuzzy feeling? Do I have to experience some miraculous sign that it has happened? Why does it really matter, as long as I live a good life?

1 John 5 begins the summary of the letter. As John concludes, he gives some solid evidence...some ways to know....if we have been born of God.
