Hebrews 12:18-29
"Are You on Shaky Ground?" - Heb 12:18-29
I was thinking about the two mountains of Hebrews 12 -- Mt Zion and Mt Sinai.
Not all mountains are as beautiful and inviting. In fact, our author paints a vivid and very uninviting picture of Mt Sinai. No, they were not invited to come near to enjoy this mountain. Quite the opposite.
But this mountain experience -- where God met with his people and gave them his commandments -- is in full contrast with Mt Zion. Coming to this mountain is a whole different experience.
If you know someone who has been scared of God, frightened of church, and terrified that the church would collapse in judgment on them if they stepped in the doors, then tomorrow will be an important day!
In the shadow of our recent election, it is essential for you to be standing on solid ground. We know the world is in a shaky and precarious place, and if we can't find solid footing, it will cost us our peace.
Am I on shaky ground? Where can I find solid ground? This will be the very, very, important topic for this Sunday! So...
...COME and SEE!!!
