"The Halo Effect" - Jude 1:5-11

In this teaching, Jude has changed gears to write an urgent letter to the church.

People are being influenced toward ungodliness by "creepy" men. Don't misunderstand! If they were creepy looking or creepy sounding, they would not have been so effective. Creepy describes how sneaky they were.

Smooth talking and flattering with a measured confidence and spiritual seductiveness, Jude's audience was buyin' what these guys were sellin'. That's the "halo effect". If they are attractive, then what they do also becomes attractive!

Jude de-halo's them -- showing how God has dealt with people like them in the past. They may seem progressive, but they are not unique. He hopes we will connect the dots and their evil will lose it's attraction when they are reminded where it all leads.
