A Just God & A Proud Humanity - Revelation 16

Tonight we will look at Revelation 16 as we finally come to the completion of the judgment and justice of the Almighty God. Although judgment is His "strange work", He has to do it. He has been so patient and so merciful that often people believe He is absent, powerless, careless, or apathetic.

All through the Book of Revelation, God has tempered His judgment with mercy. he has continued to cry out to people through angels and witnesses. Many respond. Their hearts soften and they resist the Antichrist. But many continue in a poor opinion of God. They resist his kindness, his mercy, and his love. They choose darkness, bloodshed, and evil.

God gives them what they want. Better yet, he gives them what they have earned. The Golden Rule applies -- do unto others as you would have others do unto you. The way it is measured out, it is measured back.

These final judgments hearken back, in part, to Egypt -- blood, sores, hail, & deep darkness. God even turns up the heat hoping people will run to Him in their weakness. How do people respond?
