"What's More Important?" - Revelation 3:1-6

Onto the 5th of our 7 churches -- welcome to the city of Sardis! Moving around the postal route in clockwise fashion we arrive in ancient Sardis. The first city to mint coins, it was also home to the largest synogoge in the ancient world! Seating for 1000 worshippers! A mega-synogoge!

What about the church? Thinking about our letter outline we will notice some very important things missing. What they had going for them was a great reputation. This church was alive! Or were they?

This church gets one of the most challenging corrections of all the churches. We will have to ask ourselves - What's more important? How do we make decisions?

The letter is full of imperatives which indicate a sense of urgency!

What could possibly be wrong with a church that has such a good reputation? How bad can it be? Is there hope? We have a lot to think about and discuss if you...
